Devoting 5-10 minutes to daily breathing exercises will start paying off instantly. It clears the mind, invigorates, grounds, centres and relaxes you.
From a health perspective, practising breathing exercises is just as important as making sure that your body is properly hydrated. When we starve our cells of oxygen, disease immediately has a foothold.
For the witch or magus, breath control is key to learning how to build and direct energy in magickal workings. The ancients of the Western tradition might have used special techniques for this, but sadly not much has survived.
